I know I sound like a spoiled brat, but as a New England fan, for the first time in years I don’t know who to cheer on in the Super Bowl today. Even though it’s been a long time since I really cared about football (I’m more of a basketball & hockey girl), it still feels weird. This weekend was pretty special. I’m not one to make a big deal out of a dog’s birthday (before this weekend we marked the occasion each year with a marrow bone from the butcher and a trip to the dog park), but since we knew it was going to be Dante’s last one, I indulged every crazy dog person tendency and dog birthday party inspiration I had ever collected.
When you have a dog in your life, the months when the weather in New England is actually nice are for getting outdoors and doing stuff together…until you figure out how frustrating that can be if you want to get out of your local zone.
